Where can I find great email lists of small business owners?

I have a "virtual agency". A growing list of freelancers from every area of marketing. For small to medium sized businesses who don't have an in-house marketing department. I need to find some GOOD email lists of small business owners in Southern California (who could use our services). Any suggestions (other than "google")?

Where can I find great email lists of small business owners?
You can buy business marketing lists that include email addresses and other information such as the owner's name, company name, mailing address, phone number, etc. I work for a list brokerage firm and some firms sell email addresses and some don't. For many years we resisted selling opt-in email addresses because we were worried about Can-Spam. We now have some good suppliers who not only give us time %26amp; date stamps so we know when people opted-in, but will also replace undeliverable emails. It is not illegal to send an email to a company that you're not currently doing business with, but you do need to follow the Can Spam rules. We help our clients to do that. We still don't really reccomend buying email addresses but if handled well, it can work. Another option is appending email addresses onto your current database, then doing a "permission pass" whereby they receive an email from a third party saying that you would like to send them an email, and asks their permission.

So, in short, find a list broker that can help you navigate through the many options out there. They will know who has good lists and who to avoid. You definitely want to avoid companies that will sell you a million names for $99!

Good luck to you with your business!
